The
Gothic Cricket Club (GCC) was started in 2011 by billy barr, Jane Ogilvie and Scott
Wissinger as a way to introduce cricket to the Gothic community. There were no
matches played that summer but more of regular practice sessions. Matches were
started the following summer and the number of participants has increased
substantially.
The GCC plays softball, using a 'polysoft' PVC cricket ball which emulates the size and weight of a standard hard cricket ball but is safer to use given the proximity of buildings to the oval as well as player safety. Distance between wickets is standard regulation.
The GCC is a member of the American Cricket Federation. For more information or to become a member go to the ACF web site.
